A good 10 months of exile forced Napoleon to the Island of Elba, his residence from 3 May 1814 to 26 February 1815.
In the course of time, the Emperor also changed his home: he lived first at the Villa dei Mulini, in the upper part of Portoferraio, on the cliff overlooking the Le Viste beach, and then at the Villa di San Martino, on the outskirts of Portoferraio, built by enlarging a pre-existing rustic house.

A MAGICAL BLEND OF FRAGRANCES
Neverland
Capraia displays its most mysterious charm: so empty and melancholic, yet full of vital energy. One falls asleep listening to the wind rattling the shutters and the sea crashing on the rocks. In summer, unforgettable, the scent.
A magical blend of Mediterranean scrub, saltiness, maritime pines and the sweet smell of figs.
